''The Tin Woodsman's Heart Store'' has children's soft toys: Munchkins with terrycloth bodies and silkstocking faces black-and-white satin penguins with orange feet at $30 wooden puzzles, some in their own trays, with a top price of $21 and endlessly-pecking chickens at $2.25. ![]() The tam o'shanters are by Sandy D'Andrade of Philadelphia and the sequin-and-feather concoctions are made in Croton by Gloria Pinkney and sell for $49 each. Then, following a Yellow Brick Road, visitors pass through ''Munchkinland,'' where millinery is displayed: children's knitted helmets at $20 by Susan Shea of Martha's Vineyard knitted adult headwear by Mary Stevens, a Vineyard weaver, who also supplies $25 silk-yarn baby bonnets. A silver-fabric candelabra, the orange flames on its red-corduroy candles suitably askew, costs $50. Here an unpolished old flour sifter is $7, drawstring purses by Hannelore Soderstrom of Shenorock are crocheted of hand- dyed silk and metallic yarns ($22 to $38) and an adult-sized white linen embroidered pinafore with a Paper White label costs $26. Karen Baumann, a graphic artist, designed ''The Wizard of Oz'' themes to lead children of all ages to ''Aunt Em's Kansas,'' with machine-made winds whistling and everything displayed on a tilt. Lee of Carmer ceramics by Roger Baumann of Lake Peekskill, Herbert Sargent of Brewster and Nancy Steckel of Carmel Japanese grass baskets by Barbara Hansen of Bronxville and etchings by Arthur Waxtel of Peekskill. There is still one week to savor the imaginative display ''From O to Z'' and to obtain additional types of merchandise: unusual children's clothing by Barbara Menko of Hartsdale painting by Robert J. ![]() to 5:30 P.M., resume Tuesday, with a different exhibit to be in place beginning Jan. to 5:30 P.M., are in effect tomorrow, but the Gallery is closed today. Everything From Art To Knickknacks Somerstown Studios and Gallery, about one-half hour north of White Plains in Somers, ordinarily shows sculpture, painting and sometimes ceramic works - much of it by local or regional artists - and it has a year-round gift shop with glassware, stationery, jewelry, wooden clocks, dulcimers, children's knickknacks and soft sculpture, with prices from under one dollar to hundreds of dollars.Įxtended holiday hours, 11 A.M.
